Driving for Southern Cross
Join the Team!
As a Southern Cross franchise owner, you run a clean and simple one-man business! You need no staff, no stock and no manual labour. All your bookings are provided.
You run your own car, look after your clients and all the small business headaches are taken care of.
What are the Benefits of Joining Southern Cross?
Regular, ongoing work
Southern Cross has a long-standing track record of growing demand from its clients.
New franchisees are cash-flow positive from day one and have a very short “ramp-up” period.
A proven business format
This business has been built on long-term relationships with our clients and franchisees.
We still have owner-drivers who have been with the business in excess of ten years and the number of people choosing to travel with Southern Cross is consistently growing.
Flexible working hours:
We work with you. Whether you’re an “Early to Bed” or a “Night Owl”, how much you work is up to you.
You can also hire a driver to keep your car on the road and your life in balance.
An obligation-free Business Trial:
We want you to be a success from the moment your car hits the road. We see no point in you investing your hard-earned without knowing this opportunity is for you.
Qualifying applicants have a 4-week, obligation free trial period.
What qualities make a successful owner-driver?
You must reliable and enjoy providing great customer service. You take pride in your appearance and are fastidious about the presentation of your car. You’re on-time and can be trusted with anyone who travels with you.
Knowledge and Qualifications
A good working knowledge of Metropolitan Melbourne goes a long way. If you’re not an expert now, after a few months, you can be. The only formal qualification required is the Government issued Commercial Passenger Vehicle Driver Accreditation with Metropolitan Taxi/Metropolitan Hire Car Endorsement. Visit the Government Taxi Website here for further information. Otherwise, we can point you in the right direction.
As a franchisee owner-driver you own your car and your Commercial Passenger Vehicle Licence (VHA plate). Typical set-up costs can look like this:*
